Oh my, it's been a while since I've updated! This past weekend, I attended the Ottawa Geek Market. It'll be a short report since it was a fairly short experience (only two days) and the market was just that, a market. There was a little cosplay, but I didn't manage to snap any photos unfortunately. :/

I find it hard to rate my experience at Otakuthon this year because it happened in such a blur! The weekend came and went so fast; I barely had time to register it all. In a way, I was lucky that my final chem exam didn't fall on the actual con (because yes, we can have an exam on a weekend!)... but it still wasn't the best thing having my exam on the tuesday after, since I was busy studying at my table. o_0

Anime North this year came and went like the crazy winds we had this past weekend (seriously, it was so much colder than last year!) My prep suffered greatly because of my divided mind/time on chemistry. I had my final exam from last semester at the end of April, but then I started up my summer class as of the beginning of May. New class meant new prof, classmates, lab partner, assignments, and overall, just a lot of adjusting to the new material. Needless to say, my motivation for con merch wasn't at its peak, but I still managed to get a reasonable amount of stock done.

I don't cosplay and I actually hate getting photographed, but about two years ago, my dear friend Alice gave me the challenge of pulling off Hiyori Sarugaki from Bleach. After a lot of procrastination, I've finally started to put things together and I realised that, well, I might not be able to pull it off as well as I would have wanted to. o_0 Or rather, I might have to tweak her look for Anime North convention purposes because of the wig.

Oh wow, January is already over! I wanted to update this blog at least once a month, and I almost missed the mark for January. Not a great start for the new year, lol. So far, 2013 definitely has a different feel because I'm 'back' in school. It's only for one class, but it sure is time consuming!
I'm actually quite enjoying the course. It's not that hard, but I've been so out of tune with science that I just don't catch on as quickly as I do with, for example, reading analytical essays. However, everything is perfectly logical and they really do make sense, so I basically just need to get my brain running back to science speed.
